Yes. Holders of an ordinary Chinese passport must apply for a visa in advance to visit Vietnam; visa-free entry is not available.
You can choose:
• E-visa: a PDF sent to your email, up to 90 days.
• Loose-leaf visa: a physical visa sheet, up to 30 days.
If the visa-free stay is not long enough, you can apply in advance for an e-visa to extend your stay. The e-visa allows up to 90 days, with single or multiple entry options.
